As Adam mentioned earlier, nos encantan con la idea of building with shipping containers. Over at materialicious, they just linked to this project in Kansas City, MO. I noticed two interesting things about this project: they are using 12' tall containers for parts of it, and it looks like they may have done some metal work to the containers off-site before placing them on the concrete foundation. There isn't much info on the web site, but there are links to a flickr set and a news story, but some of the information in the news story doesn't seem to jive with the evidence in the pictures.
